Our Family

Meet Bryan, Amanda, Trysten and Hannah Montgomery, founders of Camp David Ranch, where freedom to connect with horses, nature, and God is not only allowed it’s encouraged. Their passion for God and those they serve is evident in every area of their lives.

As always, love doesn’t come without a price. In the early years of their marriage, Bryan and Amanda struggled as many young couples do. These struggles brought them to their knees, seeking God‘s face for healing. Through their brokenness and God’s grace, they learned to love each other without conditions or expectations. This unconditional love has been the catalyst for CDR.

While Bryan and Amanda ministered within the church, they longed to serve God outside the church as well and in a way that brought all their passions together. At the same time they were seeking a way to help their daughter Trysten overcome a shyness that was almost crippling.

When Trysten was six years old they signed her up for riding lessons at Magic Stables in Norman, Oklahoma. Without realizing it, they found an avenue that began a journey of healing for Trysten. Seeing the results of the program for their daughter helped inspire their own dream to minister beyond the church walls. They realized horsemanship was the tool they were looking for and Camp David Ranch was born.

Trysten developed a relationship with CDR's first rescued horse, Maggie. As Trysten mothered this neglected creature, she began to trust herself and grow in self confidence. Bryan and Amanda were amazed at the transformation of their oldest daughter. It was also the sign they needed that they were following God's plan.

Today, Trysten is no longer shy. She gives all the riding lessons at the ranch and is very involved with her church youth group. The horses that before terrified her are now some her best friends.

Their youngest daughter, Hannah, is a natural born leader. During the CDR camps she is the first one to befriend the kids and love on them. At such a young age Hannah already understands the concept of true love, it’s about giving of oneself. She is found with kids her own age helping or explaining the ‘ways of the ranch’.

Bryan and Amanda’s desire to serve God is reflected in how they operate the ranch. They put their hearts into serving the children, teens and adults that come to the ranch and share the same love that brought restoration to their family.

The Montgomery Family invites you to catch a glimpse of God's love and see yourself as He does. They welcome you to a place where you can be armed with an everlasting empowerment to overcome the giants in your life.
