Here at the Ranch we are not stuck on a certain denominations theology. We are all about what the bible says and that is where we get our teachings. That makes new teachings come a little slower sometimes because we wait on the full revelation before we start to talk about it to the kids. Ever since I listened to a message from Jake Hamilton that discusses what Eternity is, I have been on a search for the full revelation. John 3:16 says For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. What a great promise but what does it mean. What does eternal life mean? The Lord answers us in John 17:3 Now this is eternal life: that they know you, the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom you have sent. Amazing, not only did we learn that we get eternal life, we learned what it is. Now we know 3 points.

1. When we accept Jesus we receive eternal life.

2. When we received eternal life we receive an open path to the knowledge of God and a relationship with him.

3. A relationship with us is the purpose behind God doing everything he has done.

So we know that we now have the direct path to a relationship with God and to have knowledge of who he is. Now what I wanted to know is how do I get to know God and how to I gain the knowledge of who he is.

Last night I was laying in bed reading different scriptures on my phone and this one popped up Proverbs 2:1-5 My son, if you accept my words
and store up my commands within you,
2 turning your ear to wisdom
and applying your heart to understanding—
3 indeed, if you call out for insight
and cry aloud for understanding,
4 and if you look for it as for silver
and search for it as for hidden treasure,
5 then you will understand the fear of the LORD
and find the knowledge of God.

I literally sat there for a bit in compete awe. I was so blown away that God knew my heart and knew specifically what I was wanting to know. Now we know how to enter into salvation, we know that salvation gives us eternal life, we know that eternal life give us direct access to the knowledge of God and a direct relationship with him, and we know to obtain the knowledge of God we must turn our ear to wisdom  and cry aloud for understanding. This is not everything we need to know but what a great starting point. I will keep searching and going after the knowledge of God so I can learn about the one I love the most.
